“Out of Place” explores the common feelings associated with the unfamiliar, uncomfortable, and unsettling.
Most people experience the feeling of being out of place at times throughout their life, but may not immediately recognize what it is. Out of place can be described as a sense of estrangement when walking into a new classroom or workplace full of unfamiliar people. Out of place can be existential, found when you’re in a group of people who are similar in skill, personality, or interests, but still feeling as if you don’t belong.

We, as young adults finishing school and soon entering the workplace, are learning how to overcome feeling out of place as we approach our upcoming commencement, understanding that Out of Place is actually the place to be – a place for growth, transformation and creativity.
